Blurry Image

Sep 12, 2017

I uploaded an image into a Storyline slide that fills the slide and once in Storyline, it looks the same. The uploaded image displays in the same size as the original.

However, once I then Publish the course to Articulate 360, the image is very blurry

I have attached the original and the published image.

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Hi Ashley,

Thank you so much for your response. You guys are awesome.

This is the link to the story: https://360.articulate.com/review/content/ffe78f67-1363-4e9f-91d0-551bef66d7e6/review

- The third slide relates to the issue in this post.
- I have also uploaded the original image, so you can compare

While I'm uploaded slides, I have another question:
In the first slide, I have created a spotlight effect, by filling the circle with the slide background images.

However, I now want to move that spotlight to different places by using layers, but the trick with the back ground images in the circle does not work on layers; I guess because the background is not the background of the layer, but of the Base Layer. Is there any way to make this work?

Another thing I tried was to move the circle around by motion paths, but then the original content of the circle is moved and the new background doesn't display at the new position of the circle.

And finally, is there an option I can set so that I receive an email when there is a response to my question?

Many thanks - Frans.

Hi Frans,

Let's start with the easiest answers... 😉

You can definitely set up your ELH profile to receive replies. Here's a quick Peek on how to do that!

Thanks for the Review link and the original image. Can you tell me if you're seeing this in all browsers? I'm seeing some blurriness and checked initially in Chrome - and that's something we've shared with our team recently as it appears different in IE11. Have you checked both those browsers? Also does the blurry issue only present itself in Review or when you've uploaded your content to your web/LMS?

The background should be the background of the entire slide (layers and all - as long as you're not hiding the base layer elements) but as for your cool set up...I may have to defer to our community of experts on how they'd design this. I'm great at figuring out technical issues and problems, not as great at the creative design ideas! And with Storyline there is often more than one way to set it up! I'd suggest posting those a separate question and including a copy of your .story file - that way folks can play around with it.

Hope that helps get you started and I'd also suggest reaching out in the Building Better Courses side of ELH and see if there is anyone who can help! That side tends to focus more on design and how to.

Let us know if you need anything else. 😀
