I’m having an issue with Bookmarking. I have tried both Prompt to Resume and Always resume under the Player>Other settings. Each time I relaunch the course, I’m taken back to the beginning of the course.

I understand that each slide has properties. However, must each slide be set to “Resumed saved state” in order for Bookmarking to function?  I have a course with branching scenarios. In order for the user to be able to explore each path (if they so choose), I have made those individual slide set to “Reset to initial state”.

For example, the learner is presented with a situation. There is a correct, neutral, and incorrect path. If they choose the correct path, they get the correct feedback. Let’s say they want to view some of the other paths. They can use the Menu to view the scenario again and choose a different path. However, if the slide properties are set to “resumed saved state”, they are unable to view the other paths, so I have it set to initial state.

There are some slides, such as the Main Menu  slide that are set to "resumed saved state".

Thank you for your input!

Hi Danielle,

Which LMS are you using? Perhaps someone that's worked with the LMS can give you a little more information.

You may also want to see if your project is using a Flash cookie for resume/bookmarking:

If that option is disabled the course will depend on the LMS for resuming. If the option is enabled, Flash will handle the resume options.

Also, have you tested your course in SCORM Cloud? This would help us determine if the issue is Articulate related or if it's on your LMS's side.

If it appears in SCORM Cloud as well, we'd be happy to take a closer look at what might be going on.

If you can't replicate the issue in SCORM Cloud, it's probably an issue that you'd want to take to your LMS team.

The articles here and here may also help clear up common LMS issues.

Let us know how it turns out.

Thanks!
