Branch scenario exam with multiple scenarios. (Graded)

Dec 15, 2017

Hi all,

I've been tasked to create a scenario based exam for our learners with the ability to skip a question and or scenarios depending on how the learner's respond.

The issue is that I have to report a grade and completion status to our LMS.

How do I create the logic where questions/scenarios skipped due to branching (learner's path) do not affect the overall score?

Happy Holidays

Hello Ivan,

The community will be your best resource here I think due to your specific requirements.

You can only send one results slide to your LMS for tracking (unless you look at this unsupported method), so not sure if you are using the quiz for branching only through specific content, but you could have a 'final' quiz at the end.

If the quiz result didn't matter, but it was more that right/wrong set you on the path you needed, you could also track by a specific slide for completion.

I'm not sure that either one of those ideas will fit your needs, but I look forward to what the community has to offer.

Hi, Evan: If you are giving the learner freedom to skip stuff, you might consider "touchstone" slides the user must visit. Create a number variable, and then add a +1 value for every touchstone slide they visit. Like if you have four scenarios, you might create three touchstone slides (usually this is some type of "end of section slide.)

When they have hit the minimum number, you could have a button appear that takes them to the specific slide that marks them complete. See link to that info above in Leslie's post.
