Branch specific Resources

May 08, 2015

Hi everyone,

I'm working on a project that outlines a process in two different branches; one for managers and one for non-managers, who have slightly different steps that they have to take. There is a branch screen where the learner chooses their role and they either get the manager or non-manager instructions.

I am also including static documents that outline the processes discussed in the module as resources. What I'd like to do is have one set of documents display under Resources when the learner chooses the manager path, and another set when the learner chooses the non-manager path.

As of yet, I haven't found a good way to do this. Is this something that can be done, and if not, could someone possibly suggest some alternatives for me?

Hi Justin,

How about adding a resources button to the player (customised player)?

Remember you will need to create two slide masters one for the managers and one for the non managers. Within the slide master you can add a resources button so when clicked, it will open (in a new window) a PDF which will include your information.

Do this for both instances but to make sure you link to the different resources and when  you start creating the content slides for Managers make sure you assign the correct slide master and the same for the non managers.

This will save time inserting in on every page. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice. The non-manager path only had one document, whereas the manger path has four, so I created a resource button that shows up in the corner of the last screen of the non-manager path. Clicking the button triggers a "Open File" action. The Player resources  tab is hidden in this path. In the manager path, I used the player's resources tab and listed all 4 of the documents that the managers need to see.
