Branching Quizzes and Results Slides

Feb 17, 2016

Is it possible to set up a Results slide to count ONLY the questions that were actually visited/answered? Think of a "choose your adventure" story situation where users are given different options to choose from which affect how the story progresses. In this case a user might only visit a fraction of the question slides linked to the Results slide.

Interesting question! I don't think there's any way to set the standard Results slide to only count visited/answered questions when scoring. You'd have to use your own variables to track that sort of thing. Doable, but it could get a bit complicated. It would probably help to map out possible variations -- as well as the potential feedback -- before you start programming anything.

Is the final score important? For example, do you want to send info to an LMS about % correct of questions answered? Because if the actual score isn't important, you could set "passing" to 0%, and then put all feedback (based on your custom variables) on the Success layer.

Hi Randall,

Good point - there isn't a way to do it now (although I suspect that some folks could set it up to report a score using Javascript) but the non-linear structure and having multiple questions the user could choose from would bring a good amount of value. We love to see ideas like this in the community forums and for tracking purposes we also have a form here where you can report the idea directly to our product development team.
