Breadcrumbs and buttons... oh my.

Apr 30, 2014

I am looking to create a demonstration of "breadcrumbs" (indications of what filters are applied to data). I need the user to be able to click on a filter, have it filter the data and have it show up as a breadcrumb. In addition (and this I think is the hard part) I need them to be able to click the filter again and have it return the data and remove the breadcrumb.I am using a button as my filter in down state filter is applied and breadcrumb is present, click button again and nothing happens....

Any ideas on how to accomplish this? Right now I can get everything to filter but getting it to return is not going well

Hi Philip -

Can you post your project file or a screenshot or two of what you mean by filters so we can get  a better idea of how things should flow?

What exactly do you mean by "getting it to return?" Are you trying to reset all your objects' states? One thing you can try is to set the slide properties (gear icon, lower right corner) and set the slide to Reset to initial state each time you return to the slide.

If you're using variables, then you'll likely need to take a different approach but I don't want to say much about that until I know more about your file.

See attached .story file.

When both check boxes are selected both text boxes should change to "Incomp" if either one of the two are deselected then the state should return. I want to be able to continue to select and deselect the check boxes in any order and have the states change and change back. Hope this makes sense.

Sorry it took me so long to respond to this I have been having a hard time with getting the forums to load!

Thanks for the help!
