I have a course that I was working on in Storyline. When I try to access the course now, the it displays the majority of the slides as blank / greyed out and when you try to access the slides, the program crashes. Is there any way to recover this story file?
How are you accessing the project? Is it located on an external source? Try to make sure it's located on your hard drive before opening it and see if that fixes the problem.
Here's some additional information:
If you are experiencing unexpected issues using Articulate software, here are some tips for managing your files which can help prevent issues.
1. Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
2. You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
3. Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.

I don't think that the serial number would effect the software in a way that you mentioned. Were there any other changes? Are you able to create a new project with slides with this behavior?

Hello,
It is on a local hard drive and follows typical naming conventions.
We did have an issue with the serial number and had to re-enter it today. I dont know if that helps.

Thanks!
All my other projects are great and new projects are not effected with this issue.
hizzah IT was able to recover the file from our daily back ups. It is working great now!
Awesome, Derek! Happy to hear it!
Sounds like your IT dept deserves a cake!
Have you tried importing content from the broken file into a new file?
