Mea culpa. Apologies. I don't know what I was thinking. Anyway, I have used symbols in place of bullet points and it seems to work. Not an ideal solution but may save the day. Meanwhile, I'm inclined to believe that it has something to do with the variable length and the way text boxes handle inserted text.
Hi Chris! I popped in to take a look at your case that you mentioned. Looks like John had to send it on to QA to further investigate. The workaround that support recommended is to use separate text boxes for your bullets. Did you receive the e-mail that was sent on 8/12 from support@articulate.com?

Hi Chris,
Would you be able to submit a Support case with your files?
I just submitted it. Hope you find a solution
Hi Chris,
Try using spaces before and after the % signs; e.g: % Variable1 %

Seth
Hi Chris,
I don't see a support case for you yet, but would you mind sending me the case number so that I can follow along?

I am attaching your modified file to this post.
