Business Unit Introduction

Feb 17, 2017

I am being tasked with creating a video (in essence) using Storyline2 that would welcome new hires to a particular business unit and provide them with a site high level orientation (history, who we are, what we do, parking, work rules etc).  I am being asked to accompany this with audio and it will not be self paced.  Based on the content that I have been provided, I expect the final product to be around 10 to 15 minutes.  This is something that I have not done before, so I was wondering if any of you could share with me examples that you have created that are similar in scope.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Ed,

If I was creating this, I would create the video in After Effects as a video. You may want to capture some actual video clips, of your narrator, CEO, HR Director, etc., and add any animations, titles, logos and other text overlays that you want. There are many ways to create and edit a video presentations, but so far this is the best method that I've discovered.

Then import the video into storyline on one slide, with a second slide as a completion slide. Count the number of slide visited, two, and use that count to send a completion to your LMS. Disable the ability to scrub the playback bar, to force students to watch the entire video, and restrict navigation to insure both slides are visited to insure that a completion actually gets sent.
