Button Control option for returning to multiple source slides

Dec 13, 2017

Hello,

I'm using Storyline 2 and I'm wondering if there's a way to have an on-screen "Back" button control on a slide return users to the slide from which they navigated to the current slide.

Example:

Slides 1, 2, & 3 all link to Slide A, which has a "Back" button control on-screen. (Not the Back button in the player/interface)

Can the "Back" button be configured to take the user to the slide they arrived from? If they came from Slide 1, take them back there.  If they came from Slide 3, take them back there.

My goal is to have only one slide (A in this example) to update, rather than have 3 different identical slides to update, each with a standard trigger back to a single, specific slide.

I considered having the "Slide A" content built on another layer on each of Slides 1, 2, & 3...and using the "Back" button control to change layers, but I'd still have 3 places to update down the road.

Thanks for any ideas on how to accomplish this.

George
