Button reappears when user clicks the timeline

I have Start button the first slide of a storyline video with these triggers:
Resume timeline on this slide when the user clicks Button1

Change state of Button1 "Start" to Hidden when the user clicks Button1.

It works as expected except if you pause and restart the timeline, in which case the button reappears, which is not what you want. 

How can I get the button to stay hidden throughout the timeline once the user clicks it?

Hi Leah,

You could allocate a True/False variable to the Start button, for example CourseRunning, which is set to True when the button is clicked. You then set the Start button to an initial state of Hidden and have a trigger that changes the state of the Start button to Normal when the timeline starts on the slide if CourseRunning is equal to False.
