Hello, I have a grayed out button I want to show color once a few other objects are clicked on a slide.
When i start my button in Disabled state it does not work, however when I start it in Normal and work opposite it works.
Ex. I gray it out in normal state than add color for a visited state and it works?
Please help im sure this is not what is supposed to happen.
Thanks,
Mike

Could you post a sample story file illustrating this with what you want to happen?
I actually just got it to work! Sorry but however one quick questions, im trying to do this for HTML5, which seems to have a problem.
I have 4 buttons on my home page, once they click on the first 3 I want the 4th one to become active, this works with flash but not with HTML5
Glad you get it working!
I do what you are doing all the time for course topics menus. Although I have the button to continue hidden until all the other buttons are clicked. I don't like to frustrate learners by having buttons shown that don't work until some conditions are met.
I think this works in HTML5 also. Let me check now . . .
Works just fine.
Good Idea! Last question, it seems to not save the information that I clicked on that button when I go back to the slide in HTML5 like it does in flash, is there a way to set that? Almost like its saving a cookie?
Gerry, I think your answer was blank?
Hi Mike,
I see Gerry's blank answer too, and so I went ahead and unverified it. In regards to your question though, you'll want to make sure your testing the content within the intended publish environment as if you're testing it locally elements of your content may not work as expected.
That's a really good article thanks!
But, is there a simple answer? I just want the project to remember what the user clicked on when reverting back to an old slide. Is this possible in HTML5?
Thanks!
Mike
Hi Mike,
If the slide is not keeping the state changes when revisiting, you will want to check the revisit properties and set them to "Resume saved state":
You'll see here there is a comparison chart regarding Flash and HTML5 output, and states should work in both with the exception of hover states.
BTW, are you using a LMS for this?
