Button to lightbox slide does not work
Jan 28, 2014
I have never had this problem before. I did download the Update for 1.05 this morning.
I have a project where I go from one slide/scene to another and open the new slide/scene in lightbox. When I click the Continue button on the first lightbox slide, it goes back to the original slide/scene not to the next slide.
I have this same setup in another scene and all the slides work correctly.
I have replaced the trigger, the button, and all kinds of things trying to get this to work. It does not make sense to me that this process that I have done so many times would work in one place in a project but not another.
I would upload a sample file, but I keep getting a 404 Server Not Found error from both IE and FireFox browsers.

Hi Jeffrey,
How large is the file? If it's too large, you'll see that type of error when trying to attach a file here. You could also try using Chrome, if you haven't already - I've heard that browser seems to be a little less picky with uploads.
Another option would be to try to import only the problem slides into a course to share here.
On that topic - have you tried importing the original content into a new, blank project? If it's an issue with corruption, that usually helps.
In either case, here's how to import slides from an existing project, into another:

Christine,
Try this dropbox link. https://www.dropbox.com/s/kblsep1tol1flfa/c_CSR_v1.story
When the program launches, click through the beginning buttons to the menu.
Click the menu option Sign On Demonstration then the Continue button on the lightbox slide. Instead of going to the video I created, it goes back to the menu.
Thanks.
Hi Jeffrey,
Thank you so much for sharing the file - that makes things incredibly easier :)
First, I noticed what may be causing the problem. On the slide that contains your video, there's a trigger that's closing the entire lightbox:
After deleting that trigger, the video shows properly through the lightbox.
Now, I'm not entirely sure you're wanting the video in the lightbox itself - but this should at least solve the problem with the lightbox closing and the module returning to the menu.
I doubt you'll need it, but here's the modified project file:

Also (duh) - sorry for not suggesting Dropbox earlier!
I hope this helps :)
Christine,
Thank for seeing what my eyes refused to see. I knew the trigger was there to close the lightbox, but I kept reading When the timeline ends because that was what I wanted. I find this happens with triggers and lightbox, it defaults to timeline starts and I forget to change it.
Thanks again.
