Button to move to a final slide

May 28, 2020

I've created a soccer pitch slide with 11 players' shirts.

Learners click a shirt and visit another slide where they see a video.

They come back and repeat this process until they have visited all 11 videos.

here is my problem...

I want a 'final whistle' button to appear after they have visited all the other 11- this will take them to a final slide, from where they can choose to exit or 'action replay' back to the soccer pitch slide.

Try as I might I just can't work out how to get hte 'final whistle button' to be hidden until they have visited all the shirts.

Can someone advise?

  • Create 11 T/F variables, one for each video. Have the initial value be False (to represent that the user hasn't yet watched the video).
  • On each video slide, create a trigger that changes the corresponding variable to True when the timeline ends or when the media (video) completes.
  • Set the initial state of the Final Whistle button to hidden.
  • On the soccer-pitch slide, add a trigger to change the state of Final Whistle to Normal with the conditions that all 11 variables are True.
    • To ensure this trigger executes every time a user returns to this slide, have the slide "Reset to initial state" when revisiting.
    • Or, if there are animations on the timeline that you don't want to repeat on revisiting, do this: Put the trigger on a blank layer, and set the layer properties to "Reset to initial state." You'll also need a  trigger on the base layer to show that blank layer when the timeline starts.

I highly recommend that you check out Articulate's tutorials and user guides if you're not familiar with variables and conditions. They provide the real power in the program.
