Button triggers not working on layers

Hi There!

I have created and knowledge check with a question that triggers a back-and-forth audio dialogue.

When the user clicks their response the scene plays out. I have removed the audio for proprietary reasons.

Problem is, that the second question button set does not seem to work on a slide layer as it does on the base layer. When the user makes their correct selection. There is a button flicker and the state does not fire correctly. So there is no visual indicator that the user made the correct selection. Not sure what I am doing wrong here or how to get this to execute.
