Buttons do not show when user clicks on seekbar

Mar 05, 2014

Hi Everyone.

I'm hoping someone can help me out. I built the following module:

http://host.jibc.ca/telt/Blackboard/CCLO304/Module4/story.html

If you click on Scenario 5, the video will display buttons at various points of the video (example: first one is at 3:33).  All seven buttons display fine IF the user does not interrupt the video play (pause, advance, go back to a specific point in the view).

What I want is for learners to be able to click anywhere on the seekbar and the buttons still show when they are supposed to. Anyone have thoughts on what I could try to fix this problem?

Thanks,

Dennis

Hi Telt and welcome to Heroes!

I viewed your course up to the 6 minute mark without touching any elements of the video or slide, and didn't see any buttons appear? With that being said, the slide timeline and the video timeline are not in sync if you've enabled the video controls as on this slide, so clicking within the video seekbar will disrupt any other animations or elements that are set to appear based on the slide timeline. If you'd like to keep the video seekbar there so that users know how long the video is, you could add a hotspot over the top of it so that the user wouldn't be able to click on it and disrupt the slide.

If you're still in need of assistance it may be helpful to share the .STORY file here with us so that we can take a look at what you've set up.
