Hey, Jill!

It's doing this because of your ordering on the timeline and the usage of states.  The left side is set to be on top of the right.  Therefore, when you hover over them, the new state is on top of the right column.  Because the right side is below the left, when you hover over them and the state changes it will go under the left.  You can see this in action by right clicking a right column button and sending it to the front.  Then all of the sudden the left buttons are going under the right.

You could fix this by creating layers for each of the text bubbles.  This will cause it to come up over everything on the slide and is generally why it is called a layer.  There may be an easier way, but that will work.

I was hoping there would be one box I could check and voila! Fixed!

I will give the layers a go. On interactive slides I use the layers, so I'm familiar with them. I'm not sure what made me try another way here. I guess that's how you learn!
