It works. Thanks. Now we just need the auto save feature or the "less crashes" feature. Let me know when you guys get that together.
I would expect a feature like auto save to only be added in a new version and not an update. I use storyline 60-70 hours a week not saying it is bullet proof but in the last two months I have had one crash, sounds like you have an unstable system and could benefit from some assistance from support

Autosave be offered in a new product and not as an update? And the product stability mitigation? And then a friendly reminder of the amazing customer support? How could I read this as anything other than an honest unsolicited client response?
Auto update feature. Until then I'll keep plugging away with lost productivity looking for the competition to release before I buy any new authoring tools for my team. As it stands, I'd rather do things the old way then waste potentially hundreds of hours a year with unsaved work lost to crashes.
I don't work for Articulate, and gave you an honest opinion of someone who use the tool a lot, I think you have something else going on in your system that is causing the crashes. Look at the evidence, if Storyline was as unstable as you experience then these forums would be overloaded with posts.
As far as features go I never expect point releases to include new functionality, articulate are rare that they do often add in new functions, but as a general rule I openly expect bug fixes, on that logic Autosave if implemented will be in a new product not an update.
I also do not work for Articulate, and I thrash Storyline for as many hours a week as Phil does. Last crash was .....ummm....hmmmm...I don't remember actually.
We get it...you want Autosave.
Until then, may I humbly suggest going "old skool", and reverting to a solution that we used to use in a time when tech was not trusted with as much blind faith as it is now?
CTRL-S. It takes a little practice, but in conjunction with a dialogue with support, it may help move you along the continuum from frustrated user to happy user. Support are there to help, it starts with a Support Call, and then I am sure it can all be moved along professionally.
You should check your product activation email for Storyline which would have the details on how to receive the characters if your purchase qualified.

I was having Storyline instability issues (like it taking 2 minutes and 32 seconds to save a 58-slide course). Realized my file was on our server instead of locally. I never, ever would have done this, so I blame three 14-hour work days in a row and the fact that I'm up all night with our newborn.
Not implying you'd be as dumb as I am, but as soon as I moved the file to my local drive, I haven't had any issues. Just thought perhaps it was something simple that you may have overlooked, like I did.

Thanks for the "statement".
Hi Stephen.
We do have autosave as a noted feature request. Phil is correct that any major feature change would likely not make it into the current version of Storyline.
As I've stated before we are more than happy to try to help you figure out what's going on with your issues with Storyline so if you would like us to assist you, let us know.
I called Articualte, explained we had recently purchased storly line and Articulate Online and were graciously given the 8 character bundle at no cost!! Thanks again

So how do I get the free characters if I have already purchased Storyline ??
Doug
Hey, Stephen,
I was having Storyline instability issues (like it taking 2 minutes and 32 seconds to save a 58-slide course). Realized my file was on our server instead of locally. I never, ever would have done this, so I blame three 14-hour work days in a row and the fact that I'm up all night with our newborn.
