I have 3 variables: A, B, and C. I need to set A = 0.6 x B x C. How do I do it in Storyline 360? The trigger wizard for adjusting the value of a variable does not allow me to enter a multi-term calculation like this. It doesn't even appear to be able to set A = 0.6 x B.
I must be missing something because this is such a basic thing, right? It must be possible within Storyline, but I am just not seeing it. Can someone help point me in the right direction?
Thanks Matthew. I'm a little embarrassed that I didn't arrive at that solution on my own. But the bigger embarrassment is the clunky way this trigger wizard is implemented in Storyline.
I love Storyline and admire the elegant way it leverages widespread knowledge of PowerPoint in our industry. But its generally good design only serves to make its design missteps more annoying because it's clear that the Storyline designers are capable of doing better.
In my opinion, when you select = Assignment and choose either a value or a variable there should be a short list of operators available that you can click. Maybe something like this:
If I click, say, the plus (+) operator, the wizard should provide a new widget where I can choose the next term (either a value or a variable) in the expression:
Maybe the "..." button opens up a list of less-often-used operators like "square root", "cosine", etc.
Anyway, I'm not saying this is how the trigger wizard has to work, but this is more along the lines of what I expected and is why I found the actual trigger wizard so baffling.
