Calibri font displayed correctly on Review 360 but not in Canvas
Aug 30, 2020
Everything had been working fine for me, but the most recent story I uploaded to Canvas is not being displayed properly. Here is the appearance of the title slide, which uses Calibri:
Here is the same text when viewed on Review 360:
The problem occurs in Canvas on Windows 10 under Chrome and Firefox.
The way I upload my slides to Canvas is:
- Publish to LMS (SCORM 1.2).
- Generate a Zip file.
- Upload and expand the Zip file into Canvas.
- Link to story.html.
I have done this before with other lectures and not had this problem.
See screencast 1 and screencast 2.
The problem goes away (!) if I remove all of the slides except for the first from my story.

Hi Ellen,
Thanks for reaching out about this!
I see Chester from our Support team has been assigned to your case so we can dig into what's causing the font issue in Canvas.
Look out for a follow-up email soon, and I'll follow the troubleshooting!
Chester uploaded the story into a different LMS and showed me how to. Since the problem did not occur there, this appears to be a Canvas error. Fortunately, it affects only this one lecture. I plan to point the students to Review 360 for this lecture as a workaround.
I edited my question to put Canvas in the title (and to remove my story) so it is easier for anyone who encounters the same problem to find.
Just tested it on our Canvas. Uploaded as 'assignment'... and text and fonts stay nicely as planned.
Some more info on how you can upload on Instructure Canvas here...
