Camtasia mp4 files in Storyline
Aug 02, 2018
Hi,
Does anyone take screencasts in Camtasia and use in Storyline? I have been trying to do so because I am familiar with Camtasia's editing features. (I create technical training courses and want to coordinate voice with screen actions and it usually takes some rejiggering!)
When I bring the video into SL, it is hard to see- very fuzzy. I have played with the increasing the dimensions in the Video Options and that has helped some. Any other suggestions? (Should I be using Replay instead?)

When you scale the video lower than it was recorded you'll get some blurriness. Ideally, you record at a resolution that's the same as the course.
If you have to do full screen recording, you could try to set your monitor resolution down (it may look a bit blurry when recording) and when you insert it it looks decent.
Also, don't trust preview for final output. Publish it and see what it looks like.
Yep, what Tom said...and I import Camtasia-produced .mp4s all the time. I have found that for longer videos (10+ minutes) that the resolution does tend to get poorer. How are you producing them? 1080p? 720p?
