Can Checkbox sizes for multiple choice and mulitple answer be changed. Also is it possible to change the spacing between the checkboxes? I am using Storyline 1.
Hi, Graham -- Does this thread seem like a similar question to the one you are asking? Please check it out and let me know if the suggestions there are of assistance, and if not, we will look into this further. :)
Still don't see where the fine adjustment details are there for check boxes, distance from margins. I can adjust text boxes etc... and placeholders on the master slide but not exactly where multiple choice radio buttons appear. Or if I can do that I need more direction because I look on the master slides and I just cannot find that level of granular adjustment.
Hi, Graham - Thanks for your follow up. Upon further investigation, I am not sure that you will be able to customize exactly where multiple choice radio buttons appear. It looks like you can change the size of the check boxes, but then it should auto align/space with the question text. You are welcome to share your thoughts or suggestions with our Product Development team using this form.
I have the same issue and questions as Graham, and haven't found a satisfactory solution. The text/answer options do not automatically align further to the right to accommodate a larger radio button. I, too, was wondering if there was a way to format the choices on a Slide Master, but unfortunately there is no placeholder for quiz choices. I learned to live with it when I used Quizmaker, so I'll continue to do so with Storyline 2. It's not a deal breaker, but I'm a bit of a nut when it comes to formatting, so the little things bother me. :-\
Thanks for your thoughts and input, Kendra, and we'd appreciate it if you would take a moment to share your suggestions with our Product Development team, as well!
Thanks, Kendra (and please accept my apologies for not linking the form once more, as I thought perhaps you had seen it in my previous response to Graham). Here it is, and thanks in advance for your input!
The shapes set up for the question types are the standards used in terms of a multiple choice vs. a multiple response - but if you wanted them to be sharp/square vs. round you could insert a multiple response question instead and only choose one correct answer.
Actually i want sharp(square) corners in the options. But i can't found any option to change it.
You can see that on above image. There are round corners in the options. But i need to change it to Sharp(Square) corners like question box. I also don't want to add any object in the options because if i use any object in option for that change then 1 another issue is create. Tabbing is not working fine if i use any object in the option.
You'll need to look at creating your own question set up then and using shapes you create - as there is not a question box setting within our types to allow for sharp corners. As you mentioned it'll be a bit more work to set that up as you'd need to create the "selected" states for all your buttons and any other question elements such as feedback layers, submit buttons, etc.
Hi, You should be able to Format the Text box for a Question slide, from the Slide Master. I tried to push the left margin out to 60--as shown below--but it doesn't work. The text stays tight to the radio buttons. It's not very appealing and I'd love a solution if there is one.
I doubt there is an acceptable solution. I asked this question several months ago and was disappointed with the answer (and submitted a feature request). The spacing seems to be determined by the smallest radio button (default), so if you change the button to any of the larger sizes, the text doesn't move over accordingly. If your answer options are all just one line, you can add spaces before each option, but unfortunately this doesn't work well for more-than-one-line options because it doesn't apply to the entire paragraph.
I use the larger radio buttons for my multiple choice quizzes because, frankly, the default size is just too darn small for our users. I've learned to live with the text butting right up against the button because there isn't a better solution.
Just to clarify, I think Vishal is looking at changing the check boxes themselves - not the text box associated with them?
As for Derek's situation - it's something I'd want to take a look at to be sure I understand what you're running up against and how you're trying to fix it. As for Kendra's thoughts - I didn't see a forum discussion where you mentioned this Kendra, but perhaps I'm missing it? That may help confirm what Derek's seeing if you could share a link to that forum URL?
Hello,
We have several templates that were probably converted from Storyline 1.
Text spacing between the radio buttons and answers look this this:
[cid:image008.jpg@01D1BCCF.C1539EB0]
To be clear, I cannot adjust the spacing above; it's just a holdover from what may have been a Storyline 1 conversion to a Storyline 2 course that preserves the space.
The current slide master layout for a New Question Slide results in spacing like this:
[cid:image009.jpg@01D1BCCF.C1539EB0]
Judging by the thread responses there are others using Storyline who would like to adjust the space between the buttons and the text.
My response was in regard to Derek's situation. Sometimes the initial question morphs into a whole new discussion! :-)
Anyway, this (below) was a response I made to a previous discussion. There wasn't anything further added after I chimed in, so not sure it will be helpful.
When you respond via email any attachments you included won't upload in the forum discussion. You'll need to visit this page to upload them. Also, your signature will be included so you're welcome to edit the post to remove that information.
It totally can and that's why we keep them open! But then I also like to clarify what the question/issue might be - just in case... :)
Sorry that you didn't get a reply on your other post! The question spacing for the radio buttons isn't something that is accessible/editable from a slide master - and in general that spacing can't be changed. You could look at creating your own radio buttons and text boxes to place them where you'd like - but it's certainly a lot more work in terms of question creation.

Hi Ashley,
I think got wrong. I am using MCQ template which was given in Articulate storyline templates. I was modified it. I was delete the check boxes and i am just using boxes. I was almost complete my slides with modification. But the single problem is that, i am not able to change the shape of text box corners. Actually i am using text boxes and i am giving background color in the text boxes so that it was showing like a box.

Hi Derek,
You can remove these radio button and you can use a simple button. After that you can create a text field and put the text which you want. After that you can place that text field up to the box.
This will work for you.
I know this is not the best solution for resolving this issue but there is no any other option for resolving this issue.
Did you insert the text in a standalone text box or within a shape? A standalone text box for me defaults to square corners. If I look at changing the shape now associated with it - I can round the corners, but the text box property itself is still square corners. Perhaps you could share a sample file here with us so that we could take a look at what you're seeing?

I just want to know is there any way to DELETE all the unused items in articulate storyline....???

Hello Christie,
It is different. I want to be able to adjust the quiz properties so that thematically it better suits the design.
Since posting this I have found how to make many adjustments. Is there a way to adjust a quiz master slide?
Hi Graham!
The Question Layout slides can be found in your Slide Master View like all of the others. Check out this tutorial for details.

Hi Guys
Is there any way to change the MCQ options look and feel (Round corners to Sharp corners) without using shaps?
Thanks for your valuable time.
Hi Graham,
You can create your own custom quiz for change anything. So that there were no limitation in your quiz.
