Can e-learning created with storyline be updated using a different software?

Hi all,

We are very very new to storyline and just trying to understand the suitability to our business and client.

recently was asked by the client if an elearning created with storyline can be updated with other software. Does anyone know?  We recommended storyline but I believe they are concerned to commit to it and then find out several years down the line this could be a problem for them.
