Thanks for the image as that helped me understand what you were looking to do. You'll need to change the text on the slide itself where the text box is, vs. changing it in the timeline. You can change the title of the object within the timeline by right clicking and then choosing "rename" but that only impacts how the items are listed in the timeline or referred to by triggers.
