Can I Change States on Maters from Regular Pages?
Nov 18, 2013
Hi Heroes,
I doubt this is possible, but I'll ask anyway.
I'm using a "preferences" page to let the learner set audio on/off and ADA Section 508 on/off.
I also placed buttons on the Master so they could change their mind and toggle each on/off. On the Master slide, I set up the buttons to have a visual "selected" look to give the learner a visual reference what preferences they have set for the course using change state to selected when the button is...selected.
My question, is there a way for me to change the state of an object on the Master when I set the "selections" on the preference page at the beginning of the course?
As I said, probably not, but hey, I am determined to someday stump the community!
Thanks,
Rick

Hi Rick,
Are the buttons that they're using on the "preferences page" the same buttons from the Master slide ( as in the slide master provides the base for the preferences page)? If so, then they should be operating as normal to select them or unselect them. If I'm misunderstanding, possibly could you post your .story file here so that we can get a look at what you're setting up?
Thanks the reply Ashley,
I decided to change my design approach. I know have just an instructional animation pointing to the bottom of the slides to make their preference selections using the "Master" set from the beginning.
Thanks,
Rick
Thanks for the update Rick, and I'm glad you found a set up that would work for you.
