I've been doing a lot of updating files with a slightly tricky FTP setup, and I'm not always sure if the uploaded files are up to date. Is there a way to have a text box somewhere on the main page that updates with the current time when I publish? I know I could manually update a text box, but this would save me some time. Is there a "current time" variable somewhere? Thanks!
If you use an FTP app like Filezilla, you can see the last modified date and time of a file so you wouldn't really need to manually add a date to anything.
My IT guy told me to use Cyberduck, so that's what I've been doing, since I don't know my way around this stuff. Is Filezilla the same kind of software? We use Amazon Web Services.
I was wondering if there is any new information on this original question--on how to put the date and time of publication into the file itself, so that when we upload the course to our LMS, we can confirm the date and time on the published file itself (not the date and time in the LMS or on the cloud storage server).
There isn't any update to this behavior in terms of a way to add the date, although when I look at my published output and I can see the date and time it was last modified in the documents folder. Are you able to reference that going forward?

I am not familiar with Cyberduck but Filezilla is pretty easy to use and does provide you with the last modified date and time.
