Can I pause a flash animation when I open a new layer?

Feb 03, 2014

Hello.
I have a project where I have a .swf animations on it and many layers on each slide, that would have to pause the slide when some of the layers are opened, but when the layer is opened it seems like everything is paused, just the flash animation continues, this is making everything chaotic because on those layers I have another audios playing and sometimes another flash animations.

Is there a solution how to pause the flash animation on the slide?

Thanks

Hi Marko!

I found some information from an earlier thread that may help:

How did you insert your Flash file? If you insert it as a video file, you can control the movie's timeline. But if you insert the .swf as a Flash file, it will play independently.

Can you try inserting as a video file?

If that doesn't work, it's possible your Flash .SWF movie has multiple levels and the main animation is not on the main timeline. If that's the case, then you won't be able to pause the movie using regular triggers.

You'll also want to ensure your file has been published as AS3. If it's AS2, the player won't be able to target the container since the interpreters are different. There are ways to make them communicate but direct targeted actions won't get it.
