Can I recover a saved-over storyline block if I've already added it to a Rise 360 Course?

Dec 01, 2020

Hi guys,

I accidentally saved over a storyline scene and when I try to recover by restoring previous versions, I am not able. I have already loaded it to a Rise 360 course though, so is there any way for me to restore it into storyline for later editing?

Your help is appreciated!

Hi Talia!

I'm happy to help! The Storyline 360 project should be in Review 360, which is imported into a Rise 360 course. This doesn't include the source file or the .story file, so I'd recommend looking for the project on your local drive.

If you have Auto-Save turned on, then there might be a working version in your temp files. Here's how to check:

1) Open this folder in Windows Explorer: %appdata%\Articulate\Storyline

2) Scan the contents of this folder for a file that starts with the name of your project. If you find one, copy it to your desktop. If you find more than one, copy the latest version to your desktop.

3) Change the file extension of the copy on your desktop from *.tmp to *.story.

4) Double-click the file to open it in Storyline.
