I have buttons to turn the audio (voiceover) on and off. I have layers that are cued to points within the audio but if the user chooses to have the audio off, the layers still show on the cues. Is there a way to place a condition on the layers to only show if the audio is on?
This may not work for you, but if you are using a custom button to turn audio on/off you could use a variable to determine if the layers should be shown or not.
Here is what I tried, I dont know if this is your goal but it might help.
I created conditions on your layer triggers that are based on the state of the "Audio 1" button. If the audio button isn't down, the layers wont show.
I also created a trigger that starts the audio when the timeline starts, and changed the "stop audio"button trigger to pause media, but that isnt necessary.
I simplified this a lot. I removed the layer and put the shapes on the base layer then I synced them to appear and disapper with the audio, about where you had the triggers for the layers.
I enlarged the image so they were more readable.
I changed the start/stop trigger to pause and resume the timeline.
I moved the text to the Notes box, so they were still there.

Amanda,
What trigger are you using to stop the audio from playing? I am trying to recreate the scenario to help you out.
Could you share your .story file so I could take a look at how you set it up?

Hi Amanda! Looks like Terry and Michael are assisting you here. Please let us know if you need anything further.
I am using custom buttons to start/stop the audio. I tried the scenario mentioned below. I'm not sure if I did it right, but it didn't work.
I have attached one of the slides I am working on. Thanks all for your help!

It's still not working as I hoped. My solution will be to make the audio automatic and take out most of the text on the slide.
Thanks for your help everyone!

Good job! Thank you!
Is this what you were after?
Thanks for continuing to assist Terry! Glad that Amanda was able to get such great assistance here.
Happy to help. It helps me to learn to troubleshoot my own issues when I help others troubleshoot theirs.
You should've seen the one I helped with on Friday. I was too big to be uploaded. The lady ended up Dropboxing it to me to work on...
I think it will work! This is my first major course so I'll still figuring it out :)
I appreciate it Terry :)
Thanks for the update Amanda! Good luck with your first major project - exciting!
