I am trying to use markers in my Storyline project and I want to have the buttons that jump to the different scenes, change states to show that they individual has completed the whole scene. I started with one slide using links to/from each scene.
Yes, that is what I am trying to do. I have a button for them to click to get to each scene, and I would like the button to change states when they have completed the scene. I set up a variable for the button on the main "menu" to see when the scene is completed, and I can get that to change from false to true, but my button isn't changing states, so I wasn't sure if I'm missing a step or two or if it just can't be done.
There's no reason you shouldn't be able to use markers. It could be how you've got your triggers set up. If you're willing/able to post, we could take a look for you.
I have a T/F variable called StdComplete. When scene 1 completes and the continue button is clicked, the variable value changes to true and jumps back to the menu slide. I have a button called Standards and have two states, Normal and completed. I set up a trigger to change state of Standards to Completed when StdComplete changes if stdComplete is equal to True. I
What does your trigger on the main slide say? The reason I ask is that it may or may not fire based upon what you have as the action. For example, is it triggered to fire off when the slide timeline begins? If so, your slide properties (resume, etc.) would impact this.
I can't be sure, but I think it may have to do with either (1) the "When StdCompleteChanges" trigger or (2) your slide properties (resume saved state, etc.). What happens if you change When StdCompleteChanges to When timeline for the slide begins and have your slide properties as reset to initial state?
You sure you can't share you file? Would only take a moment to ascertain...
I finally figured out what you were saying. Once I changed the variable to say when timeline starts it worked. I really hate these empty headed moments that I"m having! Thanks for your help!

It is a big file with a lot of video in it. I'll try to recreate with just a couple of basic slides.
I came up with a fix for now. I just set up a variable for each button and when they finish the section is says completed.

Ha Ha! Well, my wife claim's I'm also not the most clear in some of my explanations...so it could be on my end!
Glad you got it to work!
