I've got a Storyline file that has five scenes, one for each language we offer the course in. Unfortunately, it has a video in it and we've had to import the video five times so we can caption it. Does anyone know a way to associate the closed captioning to a video via triggers instead of in the media library? Alternately, can you think of a better way?
I am not aware of a way to do that. But now that you have CC files for all 5 videos, could you just insert the CC to each video, rather than using the Storyline CC function?
I'm looking for a way to use a single video with multiple CC files. Our .story file is over 500000 KB and the SCORM published zip is over 400000 KB. My first thought was to capture language as a variable and apply the appropriate .srt to the video when the slide loads.
I hope someone more knowledgeable jumps in here to help. The only thing I can think is using text variables for the CC, but that would invalidate all the work you've done creating the .srt files!

Hey there, Libby!
It looks like you're getting great community help — thanks, Veronica!
To add to the possibilities, could this tutorial on using triggers to turn captions on and off work for your design?
Thanks, Veronica.
