Help! How do I delete an audio track from a slide in Storyline? I'm replacing it with a different audio file, which I've already imported, and am not able to delete the original track.
Found it! I was trying to delete the file in the Timeline, but can't. However, I was able to delete the audio by clicking on the speaker icon for the file.
Are you able to select the icon on the slide (it looks like a little gold speaker), or the audio in the timeline at all?
If you can't select the icon on the slide, try clicking on the audio in the timeline. Once it's highlighted (in yellow) try pressing "Delete" on your keyboard.
If that doesn't work, can you tell me what type of audio this is? Is it a narration or recording, or a regular audio file that was inserted?
Also, if you'd like, you're welcome to share the .STORY file here. I'd be happy to take a look.
It looks like your audio file is locked on your timeline. Click the Lock icon to unlock it, then right-click the speaker icon and click Cut. Easy as that!

I will add there was no information on how to do this in the help menu, and I couldn't find a post specific to Storyline in these forums.

Hi Shelley,
Looks like we were posting at the same time Happy to hear you were able to remove it!
What do you mean by - the speaker icon - and where do I find it?
I'm having the same issue.
I am using an m4a file I recorded using Voice Recorder in Windows 10 which I uploaded.

I can't delete an audio track from a slide in Storyline. I can delete and edit the actual audio, but not the background soundtrack. Any suggestions?
