I want to develop a offline (CD) version for our department were a need to execute a exe file showing the learner some reports but can't find a solution to open a exe file. ANy help BIG please!
Not entirely sure I'm following. Are you trying to launch the .EXE for the published CD output, or are you trying to link to an external .EXE file with your course?
If you can share a little more information, I'd appreciate it :)
It may depend on the type of .EXE file you're running and the security restrictions for the machine. For example, one machine may be able to run this (once it's set up) without any problem, but another client or customer may not be able to use the same program on their machine.
Can you tell me what type of program you're trying to run? You mentioned something about reports, would you be able to put that data into a PDF, or some other document, instead? That may be a little easier.
Thank you for your reply. We can put the file into a PDF, but the PDF is not Protected. We use software called Flip PDF Corporate to convert the PDF into a Flip book and then generate an exe that is protected. We use this also to incorporate links to internal files as well.
Ahhh, I see. I'm afraid I really don't know what to suggest for a secure executable file. That's a few miles out of my realm of expertise. :)
It might be worth it to request some suggestions from our support folks, or even post the question over in the Building Better Courses section. Hopefully someone who's done something similar can give you some tips.
