Can't get it published on the network for some reason

Jun 06, 2013

My sys admin gave me a place on our company public drive and I followed the directions from Articulate but once I load it and had another employee go to it they got this image.  What am I doing wrong?

Hi Ericka,

Looks like you're either publishing to the network drive, or placing the published output files on the network drive and trying to run the course from there. Either one of these can cause issues.

Are you trying to share the project with your cowoker so they can actually work on or modify the file? If so, you just need to share the .STORY file.

If you're trying to share the project with your coworker so they can see the finished result, you'll want to upload the project to a web server or LMS. If you need to share this project with your coworker so they can view it locally, you might want to publish for CD, instead. You can then ZIP the output files and share it with them. They'll need to copy the ZIP file to their hard drive, extract the files and run the EXE for the course.

Here's more information:

If you view published Storyline content on your local hard drive or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail.
To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published. Please review the following article for details:
Let me know if you still have trouble with this.
Thanks!
