Hoping someone can take a look at my sample .story file to let me know what I'm doing wrong with variables. I have slide 1 that I want to be able to show a layer AFTER the user views slide 2. I have a true/false variable created. Initially, I wanted the variable to change on slide 2 when the user selected the close button, that didn't work so I opted for the variable change when the timeline starts on slide 2, but that's not working either.

You want the users to click an object on slide 1 which will lead them to slide 2.Afterwards, when slide 2 is closed, you want them to see the layer on slide 1? is that right?
The problem was that you had the layer set to show when the variable changed. But, since the variable changed on slide 2, the trigger on slide 1 couldn't notice it.
Your instinct to set the trigger when the timeline ends is right on, because that way the user sees the content before they can advance.
I changed the trigger on slide 1 to fire when the timeline starts, and now the slides works like your instructions on them say they should.
