I can't import a simpler powerpoint into storyline.  it comes up with a big message - here is the beginning "the URL cannot be empty.  PArameter name: url" and a whole lot more.

in addition, when I open powerpoint up it comes up with a message that it can't open up the add-in. presenter won't work properly.

I belive this has all started since I did an update to presenter

Hi Laura,

The first thing I would check is the location of the files you're working with. Are they all local?

  •
    •
      • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
      • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
      • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.

Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.

If your Presenter ’09 menu is no longer visible (gone or missing), then the Articulate add-ins may be disabled. Please see this article for steps to address this issue:
Articulate Support > Enable disabled items in PowerPoint

Has anything changed with your installation of PowerPoint, besides the update for Presenter?

Are you able to share the PowerPoint file here that you're trying to import?

Thanks!

Christine

Thank you for your reply but none of the items you mention pertain to me.

The files are on my hard drive. They 10 characters long with no special characters.

The menu still has articulate but it is not complete.

I can share the file I am trying to import.

And…nothing else has changed except the update..

Please help.

Hi Laura,

Thanks for getting back to me! Can you check to see what version of Studio you're currently using, please? To find this, please open PowerPoint and then select the "Articulate" menu. Click on "Help and Support" and then "About Articulate Presenter". Is the version
"V6.3.1303.2214"? If not, it's possible the update didn't install correctly.

In either case, it sounds like the software isn't functioning properly.

Please follow the troubleshooting steps outlined in the following article:

Unexpected or erratic behavior in Articulate Studio '09

If the problems continue, please go ahead and submit a case with our support team:

Please be sure to include a description of your issue. Please also include the URL for this thread in the form. Also, please share the case number with me. You're welcome to do so here, or in a private message. This way I can follow the progress of the case and update this thread.

Thanks again, Laura!

Christine
