Can't manually draw shape size

Jan 28, 2013

Hi,

I've just recently downloaded the trial of Storyline and am working my way through the tutorials.

For some strange reason, I can no longer draw a shape to the size I want. When I go to draw it, it just defaults to a certain size. For example, I go to draw a large rectangle (from the rectangle shape) and it just defaults to a small square, which I can't edit!

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Mark. Welcome to E-Learning Heroes!

If it's bouncing back to the default size, it may be related to an issue we've discovered in the past. Try to make sure you're not viewing your course at anything above or below 100% zoom. You should be able to adjust this setting in the lower right-hand corner of the screen while in Slide View.

Second, you may want to check your DPI settings on your machine. Storyline will function as expected when Windows is set to 96 DPI (dots per inch).

Storyline doesn't currently support 120 DPI. If your system is set to 120 DPI, you may experience erratic behavior, such as:

*  Elements of the application are misplaced or distorted.

*  Objects are misplaced or distorted when previewed or published.

*  Zoomed images don't work as expected.

*  Font sizes are incorrect after using the translation features.

Here's how you can switch to 96 DPI:

If you're still unable to customize the size of the shapes, can you tell me what version you have installed? You can find this information by clicking on "Help">"About Articulate Storyline".

Thanks!
