I'm running Storyline 2 Update 7. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software, rebooted, but still can't preview any slides and can't play the slide using the timeline.
I tried several storyline files so it's not just this project.
Thanks for reaching out here. This is something that seemed to bubble up over night with a recent release of Flash player and our Support engineers were hard at work on this issue. We've got some updated documentation here and a workaround and we'll keep folks posted on any additional information once we've got information to share.
I have the same problem. I hope it going to get right soon. I have tried to change to Flash 20.0.0.228 but Adobe is determined, 2.0.0.267 is the lastest so they stops 20.0.0.228. I have a deadline and are in need to continue working.
The suggested fix worked for me (I'm on Win7 Professional). I have to say though: this is the third time this year that SL (or parts of it, e.g. YouTube embed) simply stopped working because of third-party changes, while a competiting tool didn't have any of these issues.
Hi Veronica. I had a lot of trouble trying to get the archived version installed as well. After you un-install all of the flash applications manually, then reboot your machine. After the reboot try to install the archived version.
I'm responding so I can be in the loop when this issue gets fixed - I am on vacation and losing my mind with incredibly slow wi-fi and all of a sudden I can't sync audio with animation as there is no playback on timeline or preview which would have been horrible but at least I would be able to do something - PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ fix asap - my clients expect me to never leave home and usually I can get a few hours in every day when I am away.
Yes, by responding you should now be included in e-mail replies and we will pop in to update when applicable. Unfortunately, I do not have a time frame to provide.
We're keeping an eye on updates from Windows and Adobe and we'll post in threads such as these as soon as we've got additional information to share for this issue. You can also keep an eye on this kb article where we've shared the current workarounds for Win 8 and 10 and the fixed Flash version for Win 7.
I understand Sherri. There is some troubleshooting information shared in this thread and we will update when we can. By responding, you should now be subscribed.
Thanks for the updates on the Windows updates. Just FYI... I'm on Windows 10 and tried the update that was released today. However, it doesn't seem to have fixed the issue. Now when I preview, I see a gray box (which I don't remember seeing before), but I still can't preview the slides or use the timeline. :(
Are you able to check the update number associated with it? I did hear from a few users that they saw a phased roll out, so you'll want to make sure you're installing update KB313343.
Once you've installed, ensure you disable the auto updates and then restart your system.
I saw that there was another update available this afternoon (KB3133431), so I installed it and now the preview is working. Sounds like I might have another update coming, but so far, the update with KB3133431 seems to have solved the problem.
Ah yes - I focused on the last digit and figured there were 2 more updates coming to me. Glad that's not true and I'll keep my fingers crossed that it does continue working. :)
Good news! Adobe and Microsoft have fixed the Flash Player bug that broke many applications just before the new year, including Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, and Articulate Studio.

Issue confirmed here as well, with Adobe (Shockwave) Flash Player 20.0.0.267 on Windows 7 Professional.

Hi all,
Adobe and Microsoft released information that Windows 10 and 7/Vista have been updated.
Install the latest Windows updates to resolve it.
We're waiting for additional information in regards to Windows 8.
