Can't publish to word
Sep 13, 2017
I have recently taken the latest 360 update and have tried to publish a current piece of work to word but now have the following error message:
"The folder "Who are the FCA and what do they expect of firms" - storyline output is read only being used by another process or you don't have the proper security permission to access this resource.
This has not happened before and I have been able to publish to word previously.
Your help would be appreciated.

Hi Martin
Articulate are aware of the issue - see this similar post with a message from staff
Thanks for your prompt reply Wendy much appreciated.
Yes I use articulate review as well - but I find word really useful for the client to review the narration script so look forward to the fix!
Kind regards
Martin
We'll let you know Martin as soon as we can! I've got this discussion flagged so I can come back to update you. 😀
Thursday, 9/14/17 - I am having the same issue and it's very problematic as I am working on a deadline. I need to publish to Word... Do you happen to have an idea of when we can expect this fix?
Hi all,
Good news! The publish-to-Word feature in Storyline 360 and Studio 360 that temporarily stopped working has been fixed. Just install the latest software update. Here's how.
If Articulate 360 doesn't notify you right away about the new update, open your Articulate 360 desktop app, click the drop-down arrow next to your profile picture in the upper right corner, then choose "Check for Updates."
Thanks for your patience while our team worked on this!
Thanks Ashley!
9/22/18 Tried publishing to Word (Office365 version) from Storyline 360. It gives me the publish complete message, but when I try to click on the view file or any of the other buttons for that matter nothing happens.
Also when I search for the document in my files, nothing shows up.
Thoughts?
Hello, Colin! I'm happy to help, and I have a few questions to start:
We'll figure out our next steps from there!
Having the same issue but running it with Parallels on Mac
So I found the issue for mine. I had to open Storyline and move way off screen. Click publish, move that window towards end of screen then click to publish to Word. There is a window that pops up asking if Word should be the default program. Clicked yes and published.
Thanks for popping in to share Stephen. This could certainly help someone that runs into a similar issue in the future.
Welcome to E-Learning Heroes by the way :)
