Can't remove trigger?
Mar 15, 2016
I'm editing a training that was developed by another developer. It's set so that you cannot progress from one slide to the next until the timeline ends. A variable (Continue) is set to switch from False to True when the timeline ends, and the Next button only advances when the Continue variable is set to True. Here's the issue...I've removed the condition on the Next button, yet I still can't progress until the timeline or audio have played to completion. I even went so far as to remove the variable from the slide altogether. Still didn't work.
The image below displays the before (left) and after (right). I just can't seem to change the way the slide functions. What am I missing?

Hello Daniel,
It sounds like the player may have some restricted navigation options set, on top of the variables you've removed.
If you're new to Storyline and not familiar with the player, here are some high level details - https://community.articulate.com/series/4/articles/customizing-the-player
To learn more on restricted navigation, go here and scroll down to the "Restricting Navigation" section - https://community.articulate.com/series/4/articles/customizing-the-menu-in-articulate-storyline-2
If you'd like to share your .story file that might be helpful in troubleshooting, if you're not able to get things sorted.
Hope this helps,
B
That's exactly what the issue was, thanks so much for the help!
Awesome, glad to help!... and for what it's worth, I wouldn't consider it a best option to use both restricted nav options in the player *and* the variables, as this developer was using. You should need just one or the other.
