I have created a Freeform 'Pick Many' where 5 out of 9 shapes are 'correct'. When previewing I can only ever select one shape. Also, shape is not de-selected after clicking on it a second time. What might I have done wrong?
Without seeing your slide, it's a little hard to understand why you are having these issues. Are you sure you didn't accidently select a 'Pick One' slide instead of a 'Pick Many' - it's happened to me in the past
Also, did you build your slide first by adding the shapes and then convert it to free-form? It shouldn't make a difference, but I have encountered problems in the past if I convert a blank slide and then add my assets.
As a quick test, I have put together the attached example where I added the shapes to a blank slide and then converted it. As you will see when previewing it, you are able to select more than one shape and if you click a shape that you have previously selected, it returns to its normal state as expected.
If you want to upload your .story file, I'm sure someone will be able to take a closer look.
Thank you all for your advice. All very much appreciated.
Yes, I did convert an existing slide to a Pick many. In one of the versions I had used a button to show information, then, as you do, I changed my mind and decided on a pick many. For this reason the 'Button set' solution from Phil Mayor worked a treat. Thank you again to all.

If yuou converted it from a pick one, you likely still have a button set applied.
Select all your objects and right click and set button set to none
