Can you create a version of Storyline for Mac OS, please?

Jun 20, 2018

Hi there, I have been struggling more than half an hour to get Storyline record some screen flows on my Windows laptop to be used for a storyline content.

Do you plan on creating a version of Storyline for Mac at all? Do you have it in the pipeline?

It feels like it would help me a lot avoid frustrating hours like the last one.

Thanks a lot

Hi Marco,

Our team did look at creating a Mac version, evaluated the options and steps before coming to the decision to not create a native Mac version. The vast majority of our customers use Windows and web-based authoring tools that don’t depend on a particular operating system. And we're focused on developing features that have the widest impact. For example, Articulate 360 subscribers can use Rise to create courses right in their web browsers, and we’re continually updating Rise with new features.

With that being said I know myself and a bunch of others on our team use virtual machines to run Windows on our Mac's, so let's troubleshoot your issue with screen recording!

Can you tell me a bit more about what's happening with the screen recording? Also what update/version of Storyline are you using?  You can check by going to the "Help" Tab -> "About Articulate Storyline".

If you're recording a web-based interaction, I'd also recommend using a browser such as Internet Explorer - it tends to report more data to the screen recording than a browser such as Chrome.

Let us know what else you need and we're here to help!

Thank you Ashley for your thorough reply.

I have been using Firefox, a pretty new laptop with the latest Windows update. So no problem should arise from there.

I will look into the IE option. I should also look again into the Parallels, indeed.

Nevertheless too bad that Storyline runs on Windows only.

Thank you again for your time.

Best
