I have a tab/button layout on the base layer. When selected each tab/button shows a layer with brief description and a button to open that section. I don't the base layer tab/button to change its state to Visited until the button on the layer is pressed. I have tried adding a trigger to the layer and I've tried a true/false variable and neither seem to work. Any suggestions?
the inbuilt 'visited' state is working as designed. What you can do is duplicate the 'visited' state and make a custom state called 'completed'. In this case you will need to set a trigger to change the state to completed but it should do what you want.
Shout out if you need more help.
Here is a tutorial about adding and editing states that may help you.
Thanks much for the advice! I added a new Completed state and a trigger on the layer object and now it highlights the button after they jump to another slide. I did have to delete the built-in Visited state though.

Attach the trigger Wendy suggested to this button.

Glad you got it sorted Geralyn...yes I delete the inbuilt visited state as well so there is no conflict - good luck with your project.
