Can you place a button on a Clean Master and display on lay outs?

May 01, 2014

When my layouts have differing shapes or colors, the button on the clean master is covered.  When I try to place the shapes in back of the button on the layouts, the button is still not visible.  If I place the button on the clean master "in front", it still is hidden behind my various lay out shapes or graphics.

Thanks for your response --

Hi Terra,

Any layouts you create within a slide master or feedback master will sit behind anything else on the slide, and are treated as a part of the background in that you won't be able to edit them on the individual slide or layer. This is by design for items you've placed on the slide master/feedback master. If you'd need the button to appear in front of or over other elements on your slide, you'll want to add it to the slide itself instead of a slide master. If you're going to use it on multiple slides, once you've set it up on one slide (i.e. formatting, location, triggers) you can copy the object and paste it on a new slide and those elements will transfer over. You may need to adjust the trigger to correspond with that particular slide, but you wouldn't have to recreate the object from scratch on each slide.

Hope that helps clarify.

Thanks for your reply.  I placed the button on the clean master so that it would appear on every single slide.  However, my "layout slides" contained various designs that sat over the button.  I thought that by placing it on the clean slide, it could be moved forward to sit on top of the layout designs --- but guess not.

Thanks again.  I have decided to change my design to avoid these extra steps.
