Can You See My Storyline Presentation?

Sep 18, 2012

Greetings!

I just recently posted one of my first Articulate Storyline presentations to my newly launched blog.  I am struggling to troubleshoot why visitors are not able to see my presentation despite the instructions I've provided for downloading the zip file. (not an expert; totally confused)

1. Please take a look and let me know what I'm missing or doing wrong.

2. Also if there is an easier or simpler way to package my Storyline presentation for public viewing.

My Website:

www.gec-llc.co

Link to Blog:

Link to sample:

Thank you for your support!

Good Morning, Jasmine.

geconsultinggroup.co is not a real Domain Name that is owned by anyone:  http://www.networksolutions.com/whois-search/geconsultinggroup.co  This means that your sample is not publicly available at the link you provided above.  If you can see this address from inside your corporate network, this means that someone has created an entry in your Local DNS to make it look like a real website exists here.

In addition, http://gec-llc.org/ is password-protected, so this is likely not where your visitors would go to view your content.

Lastly, although http://www.gec-llc.co/ is a real website that the world can see, the link from there to your Blog simply takes your visitors to http://gec-llc.org/, which we said is password-protected.

I would recommend working with your Web Developer and/or Web Host to consolidate some of these domain names and get clarification on how/where you should be posting content.

Please let us know if you need anything else.  Thanks!

Good Morning Justine,

Thank you so kindly for responding, I was able to resolve just about all of these issues you mentioned.  Would you mind trying again at your earliest convenience?  Network Solutions has been no help and I've had to figure out most of what you just explained for most of the day yesterday after reading your post.  Let me know if you are able to download and view the "Cyber Defense Checkup" Storyline presentation under "training samples"

Kind regards,

Jasmine

Wow--that looks worlds better, Jasmine!

http://www.geconsultinggroup.co/worksamples/?page_id=34 is now active, and both http://gec-llc.org/ and http://www.gec-llc.co/ are now functional.

I will make two additional comments, however:

1.  From the blog post itself, it seems less than intuitive how I would go about accessing your learning content.  I have to click twice to get to the download file.

2.  Why do I have to download, unzip, and manually execute a file in order to view your learning content?  Depending on your audience, this may be beyond the capabilities of a large portion of your learners.  Why not publish for the web and place the content directly on your website?

Oh thank you so much,

This is my first blog, so that information is helpful.  I tried to publish by FTP but couldn't figure out how to get it to point to the right file (Neither could Network Solutions!!!! how awful is that??).  I've become a programmer overnight.

But I did have one questions for you, were you able to view my Articulate Storyline Presentation?  I am going to work on publishing now and then see what you think.  I will repost once I've got it up and running.

Thanks!
