"Cannot Access Content” Error when Launching Articulate Storyline Content in the Articulate Mobile Player/external site

Aug 17, 2015

I have hosted Tin Can API content in external server.

http://my.lms.com/TCActivityProvider/story.html

?endpoint=http://my.lms.com/lrs/endpoint/

&auth=OjFjMGY4NTYxNzUwOGI4YWY0NjFkNzU5MWUxMzE1ZGQ1

&actor={"name": ["First Last"], "mbox": ["mailto:firstlast@mycompany.com"]}

&activity_id=61XkSYC1ht2_course_id

I have added all the above detail correctly in launch tag in tincan.xml and also encode the launch link still it is not working in mobile player.

I publish Articulate course, for LMS with Tin Can. I select 'Include HTML5 output', 'Use Articulate Mobile Player on iPad'.

I have uploaded course on SCORM Cloud. When I try to load on ipad is gives this error: Unable to connect to the server. Please verify that your device can connect to the internet.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks a lot Ashley. Your help on this is much appreciated.

Now its working on SCORM cloud + AMP on Ipad.

Is it possible to communicate from external server to articulate using tin can API?

I have hosted my course on external server and I am trying to communicate with SCORM cloud.

I am launching course from external server.

I am getting error "Configuration data is missing or incorrect. Please try again." for desktop and for Ipad "Unable to connect to the server Please verify that your device can connect to the internet."

I have hosted my course on ftp server and i am launching my course on iPad by using ftp link.

I publish Articulate course, for LMS with Tin Can. I select 'Include HTML5 output', 'Use Articulate Mobile Player on iPad'.

when i open course by using ftp link in safari/chrome it opens Articulate Mobile Player. I just want to confirm that now my course will send data to SCORM Cloud LRS or not?

Hi Bajirao,

If you've published your course for LMS, you'll want to load up to an LMS vs. a web server or FTP site. I don't believe that SCORM Cloud allows for the communication back to an external server or will be able to track content not launched with the SCORM Cloud environment. So this set up is what is likely contributing to the error messages you're receiving. To confirm you could upload the LMS published content directly to SCORM Cloud following the troubleshooting steps here and see how that behaves on your desktop and iPad.

The configuration data error you're seeing is also documented here.

If you need to host the course on a web server, I'd look at publishing for web as detailed here.  Please note that you will not be able to track and report based on the standard SCORM elements.
