cannot connect to server - HTML5 bug?

May 01, 2015

Hello. I am having a lot of issues with the non-flash version of our TinCan content from Storyline 1, 2 and Quizmaker. All of them are popping up errors messages "cannot connect to server....(error:400) " I've looked through other threads here and have not found a solution.

From my testing, it's related to using a HTML5 version of the content. I have tested all examples on Scorm Cloud and our LRS and the same output is happening, whether from a desktop browser or iPad. The flash only version works fine. As iPads are used, we cannot publish to that setting. We also cannot expect every iPad user to have to install the app either, it should be working in a browser.

Are there any updates on this issue? It's common across all the software packages.

Thanks

Thanks Christie, at least the automated message to install the app is good.

I know Android isn't supported but have found it usually works fine for SCORM courses.

The link you sent doesn't answer the question though, unless Scorm Cloud is not a good place to test the course ware. This is definitely an issue with HTML5 + TinCan output from Articulate.

I think for now, we'l have to remove the HTML5 output and just use flash + App, it will mean it wont work in non-flash browsers like Android.
