Cannot export to XLIFF

May 07, 2020

Hi,

I have problems getting my survey exported as a XLIFF file. It starts to export, but after two seconds I get a error report and I have to force Storyline to close before it decides to work again.

Am I the only one with this problem or? Just downloaded Storyline today.

Hi Thomas,

Thank you for reaching out!

Oh no! That shouldn't be happening. Let's see if we can pinpoint the issue here:

  • May I ask how the course is set up? I would like to try to recreate this issue on my side.
  • When the error prompt appears, could you share the report that generates with me privately when clicking on information:

You can send this to me privately by clicking here

Please let us know if you have any questions!

Hi there, Dan!

I'm sorry you also see that error, and I'm happy to work with you. Referencing Thomas' case, here's what we recommended:

At the moment, the error message generated from the report says that there isn't an application in place for this file type.

Let's check to see what the default application is for this type of file.

In case this helps: An .xlf file gets created in the export to XLIFF process. You may open it in the browser or import it into a translation editor.

And if you could share a sample Storyline file for testing, that would be super. We'll delete it after troubleshooting. If that works, simply use this private upload link.
