I'm new to Storyline. I built a course and downloaded the zip files. I imported into my LMS and all is good. But now when I go back to Storyline, the course is not there. I look at my files which I have but the .story file isn't there and I don't know how to import it back into storyline for edits. What can I do?
Your .story project file is saved while working on the project and is not included in the published zipped output that is loaded onto your LMS.
As Phil mentioned, there may still be a working version of your project in your temp files. Here's how to check:
1) Open this folder in Windows Explorer: %appdata%\Articulate\Storyline
2) Scan the contents of this folder for a file that starts with the name of your project. If you find one, copy it to your desktop. If you find more than one, copy the latest version to your desktop.
3) Change the file extension of the copy on your desktop from *.tmp to *.story.

You cannot reimport the scorm into storyline and need to find the file to be able to edit it. It may be you can restore a copy from your temp files.
