Cannot Interact with Objects after Restart (STORYLINE 2)

I am puzzled with this issue. I make reading/writing for ESL learners with the new Storyline 2. These activities typically have 4-5 scenes. On the final slide we have a restart button which brings the user back to the cover slide.

However, once the user returns to the cover slide and revisits the scenes, he/she can no longer interact with anything! I have mostly drag/drop and pick one activities. At this point I am clueless why the entire project doesn't return to its initial state. I have already set each slide to return to its initial state also.

I have tried the following but it still does not work:

1) setting each slide to 'resume to initial state'

2) making buttons reset states to Normal on each slide when timeline starts

3) calling reset results in a trigger before calling Jump to slide 1.1

Hope someone can shed some light. Thanks in advance!

Hello Edward,

Welcome to community. To allow user to reattempt your course. Go to Story view of your file>Select all slides> then select reset to initial when revisiting, in the slide property panel present at left hand side of screen.

This should work.

Hi Edward,

What triggers are associated with the "restart" button? Have you looked at including a "reset results" trigger so that the users could attempt the questions again?

Hi Eddie

as per Ashley's comment above I added 'reset results' triggers to all the result slides. See if this is what you are expecting. I also notice that the NEXT arrow on the front screen doesn't work anytime

Sorry for responding so slowly. I did not know that there had to be a separate trigger for each result slide! Thank you so much for helping me. I feel so relieved now but I still have a small question. After restarting the project, the sound effects on the result slides don't work. There should be a positive chime or a negative sound.....

But either way, thanks to everyone for the input. I will pass this on to my colleagues!!
